The Full Story

What a Great Salesperson Would Do,
at Scale.

Heavys builds headphones for heavy music: 4 drivers in each ear, tuned by an ex-Sennheiser engineer. It is exactly the kind of product people research for weeks. They compare it against the pair they already own, read every spec, and hesitate at checkout on one specific doubt.

A generic email sequence cannot see that doubt, let alone answer it. So high-intent shoppers kept arriving, weighing the purchase, and drifting off with their question still open. In a store, a knowledgeable salesperson would have stepped in right there. Online, nobody did.

In a store, a knowledgeable salesperson would have stepped in. Online, nobody did.

Sellence took that role. The model opens a 1:1 SMS with each hesitating buyer and asks what they are weighing. Deciding between these and the pair you already own? The conversation gets specific about what 4 drivers per ear does for heavy tracks, the way a person who knows the product would.

Buyers replied. Once the doubt was answered, considered shoppers went through to checkout on the same products.

Hey, it's Sam from Heavys. Saw you weighing up the H1H, anything I can help you think through?

trying to decide if they're worth it over my sonys

What do you mostly listen to, and what bugs you about the Sonys?

mostly metal, the sonys get muddy when it's heavy

That's why we built these, 4 drivers per ear tuned by an ex-Sennheiser engineer. Want me to hold your cart?

yeah let's do it

Questions About This Story

What Teams Ask
About Heavys.

Why did Heavys buyers hesitate at checkout?

Premium headphones are a researched purchase. Buyers compare the H1H against the pair they already own, read every spec, and get stuck on one specific doubt that an email sequence cannot see or answer.

What does the conversation do that an email sequence cannot?

It asks. An email sequence sends the same message to every browser. The thread opens with a question, hears the specific doubt, and answers it with product facts.

How does the model know the product?

It is trained on the product facts Heavys supplied and on the conversations that close in this category. It answers the way a person who knows the product would: 4 drivers per ear, tuned by an ex-Sennheiser engineer, and what that does for heavy tracks.

What happens after a buyer replies?

The model answers the question, gets specific about the product, and offers to hold the cart. The order closes in the thread, or the buyer says no and the thread closes cleanly.
