The Full Story

From a Static Flow
To a Thread That Closes.

Particle is a direct-to-consumer men's grooming brand built on Shopify. The demand was there: shoppers added to cart, reached checkout and stepped away. Behind them sat a long list of cold leads, people who had shown real interest and then gone dark.

The team ran the standard recovery playbook through Klaviyo: a static SMS flow plus email sequences. Messages went out on schedule. Replies did not come back. When a flow cannot hear the question a shopper is asking, the only lever left is a bigger discount. Every discount comes straight out of margin.

When a flow cannot hear the question, the only lever left is a bigger discount.

Sellence changed the shape of the follow-up. The moment a shopper drops off, the model opens a real 1:1 SMS, reads the cart, and asks what gave them pause. Feels pricey for one cream? It is a 6-in-1 that replaces a full routine. Worried about sensitive skin? It was made for it. The objection gets answered, and the sale closes inside the thread.

Because Sellence runs natively on Shopify and Klaviyo, nothing about the stack had to change. Within 1.5 months, the conversations were converting 3x better than the static flow they replaced, on cold leads and abandoned carts alike. Margins improved while volume grew.

Before and After

Same Traffic,
a Different Motion.

Before Sellence

Static SMS and email blasts

  • One message, sent to everyone at once
  • No replies, so no way to handle the objection
  • Discounts as the only recovery lever
With Sellence

A real 1:1 conversation per shopper

  • Personal SMS within minutes of a drop-off
  • The real objection, heard and answered
  • Margins improved. The conversation does the selling.

Inside the Conversation

The Moment a Cart Cools,
the Model Picks Up the Thread.

This is the shape of a real Particle recovery, with no template. The model asks, listens and answers the real objection before it asks for the sale.

  • 01Opens within minutes, while intent is still warm
  • 02Reads the cart and the history before the first word
  • 03Answers the real objection, then asks for the sale

Hey, it's Alex from Particle. You got to checkout then stepped away, what gave you pause?

felt a bit pricey for one cream

Fair, but it's a 6-in-1. One jar replaces your anti-aging, moisturizer and dark-circle products.

oh i didn't realize it did all that

So per use it's cheaper than the routine, and it's made for sensitive skin. Want me to hold your cart?

yeah that makes sense, let's do it

Order placed. Cart recovered.

Questions About This Story

What Teams Ask
About Particle.

What did Particle run before Sellence?

A static SMS flow and email sequences through Klaviyo. The messages went out on schedule, few shoppers replied, and the only recovery lever left was a discount.

How does the model recover an abandoned cart?

It opens a 1:1 SMS within minutes of the drop-off, reads what is in the cart, and asks what gave the shopper pause. It answers that reason, whether price, sensitive skin or the routine, and closes the sale inside the thread.

Did Particle have to change its stack?

No. Sellence runs natively on Shopify and Klaviyo, so cart and order events were picked up in real time. The results showed within 1.5 months.

What is next for Particle?

The same motion is moving into retention and win-back, with the goal of lifting lifetime value. Rachel Conway describes the move in the film on this page.
